Being a "sanskari" Indian girl, I cannot step out everyday with heavy make-up.Just putting on lipstick WILL make you a 'heroine' in your teacher's eyes and 'snobby' in your peers' eyes. So I have a 'no-makeup' make up daily regime that I stick to for casual outings and for college. I swear by these products. I CANNOT,really, live without these products.
(1)Garnier BB cream
BB stands for blemish balm. BB cream is a tinted moisturiser which evens out you skin tone.BB creams were newly introduced in the Indian market which claimed to be 'miracle skin perfectors'. I had to try out this cream because my skin tone is too uneven and I have dark spots all over my face due to squeezing and popping pimples :( (I cant help it!)
I bought my first tube of Garnier BB cream and since then I am addicted. It really does make your skin look fairer, smoother and even toned.
(2)Maybelline Colossal kajal
Meet my best friend! Dark and smudge free (for 12H now). I am totally in love with this product. As my eyes are too small and I usually wear glasses so for my eyes to appear bigger I have kajal on 24*7
Because of the popularity of this product there are many roadside venders (even chemists) selling fakes. I have had my heartbroken so many times that now even in my sleep I can tell if its a fake or the real deal.
Here are some pointers for you :
- The bottom of the real one looks like this :
- The font on the real one is much bolder and cleaner than the fake one.
|
You can clearly see the font on the bottom one is bolder and cleaner. |
- Lastly,at the bottom, when your roll the stick in your fingers you can feel some numbers and letters engraved(batch number or product number?). This is the sure sign it isn't a fake product.
|
I have put on some kajal for it to be visible.

(3)ELLE 18 color pops lipstick
Shade:08 Pomegranate Pie. As I have a slightly dark complexion for lip color I stick to nudes for everyday use and pinks for special occasions. This product is cheap also come with cocoa butter which moisturizes your lips. It doesn't stay on for long so I always have it in my pocket. I almost use it like a lip balm. :D Also, it is a very delicate stick. It WILL break eventually, you should never drop it.

dropped it,broken,rough use! |
No-makeup makeup:
Products I use: Garnier BB cream, Maybelline colossal kajal, ELLE 18 colour pops lipstick
optional: a lip-liner which matches your lip colour(I use AVON), a foundation suitable for your skin colour, Mascara (I use Lakme eyeconic mascara), liquid eyeliner (I use Lakme insta-liner).
STEP 1: The trick here for non-cakey make-up is, I use the BB cream as foundation and foundation as a concealer :)
BB creams are cool because you can apply it like a moisturiser but for evenness I put three dots each on the forhead, both cheeks, upper eyelid, lower eyelid and chin and blend it al together.I put a straight line down the nose and blend it outwards(makes your nose look taller). For dark circles I use a little bit more cream,it conceals them effectively.
Optional: For concealing dark spots and dark circles you can use a foundation but be careful to blend it well as the dark spots are highlighted,if not.

STEP 2: Put on the colosal kajal on the waterline(lower eyelid). Smudge-free for 12H! It fades away but does not smudge.
I put a bold line of kajal because my eyes are smaller. Then on the upper lid,if I am going to wear glasses, I put the kajal and smudge it a bit for a little smokey eye (I usually use fake colossal kajal for this as they smudge easily, and I have got a lot of them I might as well get some use out of it!). Cool thing about glasses, even if you do a bit of heavy eye make-up, it does not show behind the glasses. :)
If i am not wearing glasses, i usually only apply the kajal on the waterline but if I have got some time I use the liquid liner on the upper lids-just a thin line near the lashes (gives a illusion of volume to your lashes) :)
STEP 3: Nude lipstick with lip liner. You are good to go!!
No-makeup makeup indeed,eh? Do comment! :)
